Montenegro has two main international airports. The best pickup point depends on your flight, first destination and travel season.
Podgorica Airport
Podgorica is centrally placed for the capital, Lake Skadar, Cetinje and routes toward northern Montenegro. It can also be a practical start for the coast when flight options are better. Confirm your arrival time and meeting point because the rental representative may coordinate delivery around your flight.
Tivat Airport
Tivat is close to Kotor Bay, Porto Montenegro and the Budva Riviera. In summer the approach roads can be slow, especially around peak arrival times. A short map distance can therefore take longer than expected.
Information to send before arrival
- Flight number and scheduled arrival time
- A phone number that works in Montenegro
- Number of passengers and approximate luggage
- Any child seat or additional-driver request
Plan the first drive
Avoid building a tight itinerary immediately after landing. Allow time for baggage, vehicle inspection and traffic. Save the contact number and destination offline, and ask the representative about the easiest exit route from the airport.
Returning the vehicle
Confirm the exact return area, fuel level and time. During summer, leave additional time for coastal traffic and airport access. Tell the rental company promptly if your schedule changes.
