Confirm petrol or diesel at handover and check the label by the filler cap. Do not rely on vehicle colour or model assumptions. If uncertain, stop and contact the rental team before adding fuel.
Stations and receipts
Main routes and cities have staffed stations, but remote and late-night availability varies. Keep the final receipt and photograph the dashboard if your return policy requires the same level.
Tolls and the Sozina Tunnel
Some infrastructure, including the Sozina Tunnel route, can require payment. Prices and payment methods can change; follow current signs and keep a bank card plus small euro cash available.
Plan the return
Identify a practical final station before airport return, without leaving refuelling to the last minute. Review the fuel policy and the relevant airport or city guide.
